Their family life was so hard and when the first daughter got brain disease, their life even became harder. “Whether day or night, whenever she had seizure we had been on the run all day to take her to medical aid station” Mr Hoa said. Because they must buy the medicine and one member of the family had to stay at home o take care of her, their life became more and more difficult. When it rained heavily, the small house was submerged. Seeing that, everyone felt sorry for their family.

Professional Development in Special Educational Needs,

“Educational Answers to the Diverse Needs of all Children”

Introduction

We are very pleased to announce this Short Training Initiative (STI) on Professional Development in Special Educational Needs, organised by the Artevelde University College Ghent (Belgium), in cooperation with VLIR-UOS (University Development Cooperation) and DONXA vzw (Vietnam). This STI fits in our vision on strategic alliances and therefore aims to result in a broader and more in-depth cooperation between institutions.

Content & Aims

Teachers and teachers trainers will be offered opportunities for professionalization in meeting the diverse needs of all children, specifically of the most vulnerable amongst them.

The focus of this training is on Adaptive Learning Support, Individual Education Planning, Needs Based Assessment, Co-operation with Families, Interdisciplinary Team Cooperation and Internal/External Support. Participants will be supported in the realisation of a personal development plan for special needs education in his/her local context.

CONTENT OF “ TALENT SCHOLARSHIP” PROGRAM

1. Program summary

“ Talent scholarship” program was carried out by DONXA’s scholarship fund cooperated with some Universities in Belgium . The program aimed to offer the scholarship to the students who major in agriculture in universities and colleges in Vietnam who achieved high study results.

The mount of scholarship is 50USD/student/semester. The first period of the program is planed to be implemented during 4 semesters, begins from 10/2011 and likely to be continued.

SCHOLARSHIP DELIVERING TO STUDENTS IN HANOI AGRICULTURE UNIVERSITY

1-1-2 On 12th, October, 2011, on the occasion of 55 years anniversary of Hanoi Agriculture University, DONXA Organization attended the anniversary meeting and delivers scholarship to 5 students from Faculty of Animals and 5 students from Faculty of Veterinary. The value of the scholarships is 50 dollars for each students from the Faculty of Animals and 100 dollars for each student from Faculty of Veterinary.

On the early morning of June, 16th, 2011 due to the carelessness when playing with candles, the five-year-old son of the family Bui Van Xuat in Village 2- Trung Chau Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi let the fire on funiture and clothes. Because this was the crop season, there were no aldults at home, the whole house and simple kitchen was on fire and finished just after 15 minutes. Luckily, there was no injury, however, the whole house, funitures, clothes, and food were totally gone.

Who was the most nervous, Chu Dinh Tuyens family or we? Years ago we already decided that one day we would visit Tuyen. But we wanted to wait until our youngest son, Yoran (now 12) was old enough to learn something from a culture that is completely different from ours.By now Tuyen is already 14. We have been supporting him at his studies since 2004. According to his letters, he is doing well.

On 28th, June, 2011, a very nice and shinning summer day,the five-month-old calves with beautiful name-Bellaware have found their new family in Trung Chau Commune, Dan Phuong District-the surburban of Hanoi.

The two calves are sponsored by Delaware Consulting Company, Belgium through “Donxa Lasind Cow Breeding” Program in which poor famer families are give at least one female calf to raise.

06_2011_DW_DongThap_WaterForPoorFamily_P_49 From 2006, Donxa conducted the Project “Financial Adoption” in Dong Thap and it gains successful result. Through this project, many poor children can go to school, and many families in difficulties can receive supporting.

According to the FP0154- Luc & Anne-Marie’s request and support, Donxa decided to conduct the project of providing purified water for poor families in the list of “Financial Adoption Program” in Dong Thap Commune (Including families in the list of Foster Children and Candidates Children). This project aims to improve and upgrade the life quality for poor families in Donxa Financial Adoption Program in Dong Thap Commune.

Donxa Rehabilitation Room Project

Donxa Rehabilitation Room Project-The new Donxa Rehabilitation Room is a dream come true for the Soc Son Nursing and Training School for Disabled Children.

Donxa is a Non-Governmental Organization who provides support for underprivileged disabled children in Vietnam.

Since it’s birth in 2001 the Belgian NGO has worked tirelessly on several projects, predominately focusing on education. Donxa believes that this is a major factor in ensuring children have a brighter future.

In 2002 Donxa built ‘Co Loa Relief House’, a school for disabled children in Co Loa, just north of Vietnam’s capital city, Hanoi. The school, along with other specialized schools in Hanoi, still receives support from Donxa.

The ‘Soc Son Training and Nursing School for Disabled Children’ is another example. There are on-going projects such as ‘Milk for Disabled Children’, and the ‘School Library Program’. The children receive a carton of milk twice-daily and pupils and teachers have a new library complete with new furniture, computers and books.
